What is everything made of?
Just like Lego bricks build a castle, atoms are the tiny building blocks that make up you, me, and the entire universe.
Protons
Positively charged particles living in the center (nucleus). They decide what element it is!
Neutrons
Neutral particles (no charge). They act like glue to hold the nucleus together.
Electrons
Tiny, negatively charged particles zooming around the nucleus. They are super fast!
Valence Electrons
The VIPs! These live in the outermost shell. They do all the trading and sharing to make chemical bonds.
The Atom Structure
Think of an atom like a tiny solar system. The sun is the nucleus (Protons + Neutrons), and the planets are the Electrons orbiting around it.
- Protons (+1 Charge)
- Neutrons (0 Charge)
- Electrons (-1 Charge)
